Black grapes are very rich in directly assimilable sugars (glucose, levulose, mannose); they also contain organic acids, mineral salts (potassium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iodine, silicon, chlorine, arsenic), vitamins A, B and C, tannins (in the skin) and polyphenols. It has angioprotective, hypotensive, antioxidant, laxative, cholesterol-lowering, vaso-protective, anti-inflammatory properties; it promotes the formation of haemoglobin, aids digestion and has a remineralising action.
