600 million years ago, plants produced chlorophyll and began to develop oxygen free of carbon dioxide with the help of sunlight. At this point, the composition of the air began to change (21% 02 -78% nitrogen – 0.92 argon -0.04% co2). This becomes a starting point for a very fast development of certain cells that instead of using fermentation, as they evolve they become capable, with the help of the mitochondrion, of using oxygen to produce energy. Respiration was born. For 2-3 billion years, cells had only obtained energy through fermentation (glycolysis).
